BIOGRAPHY
Deborah Porretto is a South Huntington, Long Island based artist. Born in Queens NY, Deborah as a teenager moved with her family to beautiful Long Island. In high school Deborah was a shy, quiet teen but she had an overwhelming passion to go into the art field. She was lucky enough to be taken under the wing of her art teacher Mr. Prince who recognized her talent and encouraged her to explore her creativity. Deborah went on to Nassau Community College where she started to blossom as an artist. Soon after college Deborah began her art career working with her accomplished artist Dad, Frank Porretto. Assisting her Dad as a designer for a silk screening company, she learned and perfected her design skills. Her Dad’s intricate pen & ink drawings influenced her and inspired her to be the best artist she could be. She set forth on her path in her graphic designer career for several top publishing and manufacturing companies.
Still wanting to persue her passion for fine art, Deborah fell in love with realism portraiture drawing using pencil, charcoal and pastels. Her other endeavors encompass many different genres including T-shirt design, furniture refinishing, bicycle art etc. Staying creative has always been an important part of her life.
Deborah is now exploring her abilities as an acrylic painter and mixed media artist. Currently several of her new art pieces are on display in galleries across Long Island. Deborah’s goal is to be prolific with her art, to have fun and to inspire people to become the best human they can possibly be.
